Serena Williams Becomes Highest Paid Female Athletes Earning $28.9 million As She Tops Sharapova

Serena Williams lost the French Open final on Saturday to  spanish 22-year-old Garbine Muguruza.

 It marked her third unsuccessful attempt to win a twenty second singles Grand Slam title, which would tie the Open-era record set by Steffi Graf. Williams was so gracious in defeat as she self-addressed the crowd at Roland Garros in French.
