Lagos Entrepreneurship Students Award 2017: The Classroom Edition

The Lagos Entrepreneurship Students Award has rolled out plans for the 2017 edition of the Award. The first Edition was held in 2016 and it was hugely successful as it was hosted by the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and had over 150 young students entrepreneurs in attendance. 

The Keynote Speaker was the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Idiat Adegbule, who was represented by Mrs Seriki Ayeni Abiola, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Education, other Guest Speakers were Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, Member Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Odeneye, Member Federal House of Representative and Ms Abiola Adenuga, MD of PEFTI Film Institute.

20 Student Entrepreneurs from various tertiary institutions were awarded for their outstanding innovations and commitment as young entrepreneurs.

The preparations for the 2nd Edition of the Lagos Entrepreneurship Students Award has started and is in full gear. Some of the award Categories have been recreated to adequately define those eligible for nominations. The award would be hosted by another tertiary institution in Lagos State and plans to be a Bigger and Better edition compared to the first edition in 2016.

The Organised has themed the 2nd Edition as “The Classroom Edition”. List of Guest Speakers and panelist would be unveiled in due time as students are being encouraged to go and nominate themselves and fellow young entrepreneurs in their universities by sending their names, mobile number, school and award category as an SMS to 09090412219. Award Categories:
1. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Creative Person of the Year: This Award is aimed at celebrating music artiste, dancers, comedians, DJ and other creative student.
2. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Media Person/Brand of the Year.
3. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Event/Project of the Year.
4. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Organization of the Year.
5. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Beauty Brand of the Year.
6. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Advocacy. This award is aimed at celebrating an outstanding student activist.
7. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Fashion Designer/Brand of the Year.
8. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Photographer of the Year.
9. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Model of the Year.
10. Lagos Entrepreneurship Student Award for Student Entrepreneur of the Year.
