DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Kendrick Lead BET Hip Hop Awards
The three hip-hop stars nab nine nominations each, while Jay-Z and Chance the Rapper trail behind them with five nods each.
The BET Hip-Hop Awards is just around the corner and what an incredible year its been for African American Artist in the Music Industry across the United States and all over the world, especially for Female Rappers like breakthrough Feminine Rapper Cardi B, record smashing hit Single Bodak Yellow and the Eccentric DJ Khaled with his Grateful Album topping the Chats across the world.
According to aceshowbiz.com, Rising star Cardi B is getting some major recognitions at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. The Bronx femcee scores a whopping nine nods, including Best New Hip Hop Artist, MVP of the Year and Single of the Year for her smash hit “Bodak Yellow” at the upcoming event.
Following the announcement, Cardi took to Instagram to thank her fans. “This is soooo crazy, beautiful and unbelievable. Thank you BET and thank all you GUYS :’) Proud woman,” so she wrote alongside a photo that featured a list of her nominations.

Earlier this year, the girlfriend of Offset was nominated in Best New Artist and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist categories at the 2017 BET Awards, but ultimately lost to Chance the Rapper and Remy Ma.
Kendrick Lamar and DJ Khaled join Cardi to lead the nominee list with nine nominations each. The Compton rapper and the DJ share nominations in several categories, including Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video, Hustler of the Year and MVP of the Year.
In the wake of Hurricane Irma which caused destruction in South Florida, 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards moves to Miami this year. BET interim head of programming Connie Orlando said in a statement, “While BET is extremely excited to bring the BET Hip Hop Awards to Miami, we remain sensitive to the millions of victims affected by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey.”

“Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with those who are facing the impact of this catastrophic storm,” she added. “As a network, we are committed to offering our full support during this most devastating time. Through Hip Hop Awards 2017, our ‘Hip Hop for Hurricane Relief’ will bring together some of the biggest names in hip hop to acknowledge those in need as the country begins the difficult process of rebuilding.”
Filmed on October 6 at The Filmore Miami Beach, the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards will air on October 10 at 8 P.M.
