Trust is having profound confidence in and reliance on somebody. It is knowing that whatever happens, the person has your back. For instance when a father throws his baby boy up into the sky, the boy is not scared because he trusts that his father will catch him. That is the beauty of trust, you just know the person you trust have your back no matter what.

Trust is so important that I feel it is only second to love in any relationship. You should learn to build your trust in your partner as he or she will build in you. Without trust, relationships crumble, friendships built for years are destroyed and marriages cease to exist. Trust is a beautiful ceramic plate that once broken, it is difficult to glue the pieces together. It is like a castle made of cards and once it scatters, it is hard to build back. It is one of the main ingredients for a relationship to flourish.

So if you are breaking that trust right down or you broke it in the past or planning to do it in future? Stop. Think about if you were in her or his shoes, and you discover the things you are doing right now, how you will feel. If your partner is hurting you or has hurt you in the past, there are better ways of handling it than breaking his or her trust.
