Presidency denies inviting Naomi Campbell to Lagos

Nigeria’s Presidency has reacted to claims made by top model Naomi Campbell, of being invited to President Buhari’s two day working visit in Lagos through her tweets.

Naomi Campbell had tweeted;

Was a pleasure to be invited by His Excellency The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to the private launch of Eko Atlantic. @NGRPresident@MBuhari

However denying the claims made in the tweet above, President Buhari’s media aide, Bashir Ahmad disclosed that Naomi Campbell only met President Buhari when he was touring the Eko Atlantic project, and requested to take photos with him. His tweet reads;

For the sake of clarity, President @MBuharididn’t invite Ms. Naomi Campbell to any event during his 2-day visit to Lagos State. They only met at the Eko Atlantic City while Mr. President was touring the project, and she requested to take photos with him.

The Eko Atlantic City Project is an ambitious planned city being constructed on reclaimed land from the Atlantic Ocean. It is projected to accommodate at least 250,000 residents and a daily flow of 150,000 commuters when completed. Here’s how Nigerian’s are reacting to the claims by the Presidency;
