Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode who is said to be engrossed in a second term feud with Bola Tinubu, ran into the APC Chieftain at the book launch of Zenith Bank boss, Jim Ovia.

The Lagos State Governor caused a little drama on Monday, while acknowledging Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), during the launch of ‘Africa Rise and Shine’, a book by Jim Ovia, chairman of Zenith Bank.
Ambode who was invited to speak immediately after Tinubu, acknowledged the dignitaries and stated that he was not prepared to give a speech.
“Actually, I didn’t prepare to come and say anything here… And who am I to speak after the Jagaban has spoken?” Ambode asked.
As the guests broke out in laughter, he added: “But obviously, the truth is, there is no person that has actually gone through the profession of accountancy that would not have had anything to do with Uncle Jim, and that is the truth.”
Other dignitaries at the event include Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Rilwan Akiolu, oba of Lagos, Governors of Delta, Borno and Taraba states.
The little drama is coming after the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, denied putting a phone call across to APC godfather Bola Tinubu on behalf of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos. Ambode had fallen out with Tinubu, and the APC godfather has settled for 53-year-old Babajide Sanwoolu to end Ambode’s bid for a second term in office.
Transcripts of an alleged phone conversation between Pastor Adeboye and Tinubu were made available to various media outlets in the past week. But the preacher says he never rang Tinubu to discuss Ambode’s travails.
In a statement issued on Pastor Adeboye’s social media accounts, the RCCG said
“Our attention has been drawn to news making the rounds from dailies especially the New Telegraph that Pastor E.A Adeboye, the General Overseer of the RCCG had a recent phone conversation with the Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
“We would like to inform the general public that this is false and Pastor E.A Adeboye has not and would not be involved in inter/intra party politics in Nigeria and anywhere RCCG is present across the world. Pastor E.A Adeboye advises all well meaning Nigerians just like him to get their PVCs and exercise their civic duty.
“God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
