Serena Williams admits she got distracted because of Roger Federer

Serena has a big admiration for Federer, and in an interview, speaking about that practice, the time when Federer was playing the Sneak Attack by Roger (SABR), Serena said: ‘Yeah, Roger was a distraction because I was always trying to see what he was doing.

I was seeing him practice and I was asking myself, I should may do it as well. It’s a big distraction for me. I cannot do anything but look at him.’ Commenting on media’s expectations towards her, Serena added: ‘I just feel like I try to be as efficient as I can out on the court.

That’s not always possible. But I just feel like my game has matured a lot overall, and mentally sometimes I definitely do put a little more pressure on myself than I did a long time ago. I also think that’s a good thing, because I only expect the best from myself and that’s what I want to do.

I always did.’ Serena also recalled the first time she was at Wimbledon: ‘I didn’t actually play. But I was here with Venus. It was the year, I think it was ’97, and I don’t think any matches got on until the second week.

So that’s, like, something I’ll never forget.’
