3 reasons men date ‘slay queens’ but marry church girls

Have you noticed this escalating trend where a man will do anything just to be with these expensive, good-looking women but end up marrying a staunch church girl?

I had an opportunity to listen to a local radio station where the debate was raging. Every man had his reasons for dumping the ‘slay queens’ as they are popularly known and marrying a church girl.

Some of the excuses given were:

1. Sustainability

One caller said that marriage is a new responsibility-taking care of the wife, her parents, children and also her other relatives.

This makes marriage an expensive affair and as such, they settle for reserved church girls because they are understanding and less demanding, making them the best when one wants to settle down.

2. ‘Slay queens’ are not wife material

Does it mean men date these beautiful girls just for fun or passing time as they wait for the right person?

Men argued that slay queens lack those qualities men look for in ideal women to settle down with them. It is a dream for every man to marry a prayerful, understanding and caring woman, this is why they settle for church girls.

3. Church girls are hard-working

It is actually surprising to know that men think there are women who are generally lazy-they want to spend most of their time talking about irrelevant things or “feasting” where they did not sow.

On the other hand, reserved girls received praise for being hardworking and the fact that they can be relied upon to shoulder some of the family expenses.
