Wizkid is arguably the biggest Africa music export since the year 2017 and has lots of facts to back it up including have two of his hit single used as soundtracks in the rock’s popular series Ballers and Hollywood popular movie Pacific Rim Uprising.
But despite all this accolade, one man stands to be corrected in person of popular Nigerian gospel singer, Lanre Teriba.
In a recent interview with TVC’s Entertainment Splash, disclosed that Americans see Wizkid as an upcoming artiste.
Speaking at the interview, Lanre Teriba who disclosed that he travels a lot, stated that Nigerian artistes are still seen as local musicians in the lens of foreigners alongside Wizkid who they see as an upcoming artiste.
I travel a lot and I can tell you that Nigerian artistes are still seen as local musicians in the lens of foreigners.
Even wizkid is seen as an upcoming artiste. I go on tour every year, I will be in America from May to July this year, but we, Gospel artistes have a problem with the media.
They are not supporting us or mentioning us at all. At the moment, I’m trying to do something with Kirk Franklin.
