Amaechi says his ultimate ambition is to make heaven

Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s minister of transportation says his ultimate ambition is to make heaven when he dies. Amaechi said this at the Thanksgiving and birthday celebration organized and celebrated at St. Gabriel Chaplaincy, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Durumi, Abuja. Going further, the minister, while giving his testimony narrated how he struggled while growing up from the little money his father made. He also prayed for a Nigeria, where people would have to struggle less to survive.

The former Rivers state governor also pledged to assist the poor in the church by donating ten bags of rice every month for the next three years, among other donations. Meanwhile, recall that reporters had reported that minister of transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, dismissed insinuations that his ministry was favoured by President Muhammadu Buhari, due to his closeness to the Nigerian leader. Amaechi, 53, is reputed to be one of the best performing outgoing ministers and has been a long-term politically ally of President Buhari.

Addressing journalists at his valedictory press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, May 23, Amaechi said talks about his ministry and that of the works, housing and power ministry being favoured by Buhari were because the president was genuinely interested in the infrastructural development of Nigeria.
