American media service, Netflix Inc. is set to release its second original African series “Blood & Water” which will follow soon after “Queen Sono.”
The second original African series of Netflix is said to be in production as at now.
The series will star Ama Qamata and Khosi Ngema as the lead actresses; it will be directed by South Africa’s Nosipho Dumisa and produced by Gambit films.
This youthful series will follow the story of a teenager who discovers shocking secrets about her family’s past whilst trying to navigate life at a South African high school.
In regards to casting, Director Dumisa explained;
“Blood & Water presented us with the opportunity to present new faces alongside the already-known actors. After seeing an outrageous number of new actors from Cape Town and Johannesburg, we’re glad to be part of the opening up in the industry.”
Blood & Water is scheduled to be launched on Netflix in 2020.
