One of Ghana’s most respected Ex Goalkeepers for the Ghana National Team (Blackstars ) Richard Kingson, has been arrested for defying motor traffic regulations.
‘Olele’ as he is affectionately called is also the Goalkeeper Trainer for the Blackstars.
He was arrested amongst other 21 drivers at East Legon, a suburb of Accra, Ghana. The arrest took place as part of the campaign against indiscipline on roads initiated by the Ghana Police.
According to the Ghana Police, most of the drivers knowingly ignored the road signs, which forced the police to act accordingly.
18 of the arrested drivers have been sent to the East Legon Police Station and are set to face prosecution at the court very soon.
However, the Police Department in general have warned the entire Police Service to desist from breaking traffic rules all in the name of ‘emergency reasons.’
Richard Paul Franck Kingson is a former professional football goalkeeper and currently goalkeeper coach for the Ghana national football team. He was also the main goalkeeper for the Ghana Blackstars in the 2006 and 2010 World Cup. He was also a keeper for Galatasaray FC.
