President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has reigned praises on the late President of Tunisia, Beji Caid Essebsi, as he considers the late 92-year old President as one of the greatest African Presidents.
After Essebsi’s death on July 25, 2019 at a Tunisian Hospital, dignitaries from around the world have expressed their thoughts and prayers to the nation.
Maron was amongst the few dignitaries who were present to pay their last respect to the late President.
“You had a great president, a very great president, who knew how to keep both the wisdom of the accumulated decades and a youth who gave in to nothing, a willingness to embrace the world as it was”, France President, Macron said.
According to Macron, Essebsi “supported the stability of the constitution, commitment to freedom and openness and equality between women and men”.
Dignitaries that were spotted at the Essebsi’s funeral procession were, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, King Felipe VI of Spain and Fayez Al-Saraj of Libya.
