MENZGOLD: NAM 1 returns to Ghana

Undoubtedly one of the most controversial issues to hit Ghana was and still is the Menzgold Saga.

Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, better known as NAM 1 is set to arrive in Ghana at 11am today, 11th July, 2019.

NAM 1 was rumoured to have been been arrested in Dubai wrongful, where he had gone in pursuit of his company’s funds in December 2018.

Speaking to the media, his lawyer, Kwame Akuffo confirmed Nana Appiah Mensah’s arrival today but said he was unable to discuss the circumstances of his arrival.

Ghana Police CID sources have also confirmed security operatives would be accompanying him to take him to court to secure his custody pending investigations into alleged offences.

However, his lawyer, Mr. Akuffo said he was not aware of such arrangements.

Only last week, a Dubai court ordered Horizon Royal Diamonds to pay within three weeks, an amount of $39 million plus compensation for wrongful incarceration to NAM1 following a gold business deal between Menzgold and Horizon Royal.

Nana Appiah Mensah was accused of running away with thousands of investors who put in millions of cedis in the Menzgold company. Many people lost their business and expressed their grievances to the government for help but yet to no avail.

It was reported that even well-known members of the society had their money locked up there.

NAM1 is a Ghanaian businessman known for Menzgold, gold dealership and investment firm that promised customers a 10 percent monthly returns on their investments. He is also the CEO of Zylofon Media, a media firm and a record label. Signed to his record label was Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Becca and many more.
