The African themed album, ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album which was masterminded by American Singer, Beyoncé, who doubles as the Executive Producer of the album, has debuted No. 2 on the Billboard Charts.
Beyoncé debuted this year’s chart with her album ‘Lemonade,’ which made good numbers, undoubtedly. She topped it up with her live performances album ‘Homecoming: The Live Album,’ followed by the Disney Live action curated album ‘The Lion King: The Gift Album,’ which has become the third album to Top Billboard Top 10 charts this year in the singer’s career.
‘The Gift’ has reached 54,000 equivalent album units with 11,000 of it from the album sales, making it Number 2 after English artiste, Ed Sheeran’s No. 6 topped the chart for the second week in a row.
‘The Gift’ album featured a lot of African artistes, especially Nigerians – Wizkid, Mr Eazi, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Tekno and more. It featured only one Ghanaian artiste, the self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale. His feature brought a lot of controversies in the Ghanaian music industry.
