After winning the Women’s World Cup 2019, the US Women’s National Team Coach has resigned willingly after spending more than 5 years with the team.
Jill Ellis has stepped down as a history-maker in the world of football. In a press release issued, Ellis shared with the media;
“The opportunity to coach this team and work with these amazing women has been the honor of a lifetime,
“I want to thank and praise them for their commitment and passion to not only win championships but also raise the profile of this sport globally while being an inspiration to those who will follow them,” she said.
The 52-year also expressed gratitude to the U. S Soccer Federation for the time, energy and investment put in as they played an integral role in the team’s success during the Women’s World Cup.
Ellis has obtained 102 career wins and coached more games than any other coach in the US Women’s Soccer Team.
She is the only coach to win 2 World Cup trophies consistently in the history of Women’s World Cup.
