King T’Chaka, Father of T’Challa in the Marvel African based movie, Black Panther has made a few suggestions as to how African movie creators can help make the movie industry more intriguing.
John Kani, who played the role of King T’Chaka in ‘Captain Marvel: Civil War’ and ‘Black Panther’ has said in an interview that, African movie creators should do well to act quickly.
“The Black Panther and movies like Ghost and the Darkness, The Lion Kings, have opened a small window of opportunity for us. Now we know that we are on the main menu, now African filmmakers, this is the time they have to act very quickly. Push in there and make a statement about African films.
“The best stories ever told are on this continent. This continent is the origin of mankind and humankind, therefore we can tell those stories.” Kani said in an interview with Ameyaw Debrah.
Bonisile John Kani – born 30 August 1942 – is a South African actor, director, and playwright. He has been active in the movie industry since 1995.
He has stared in popular movies like ‘Black Panther, Captain America : Civil War, Murder Mystery, The Ghost and The Darkness’ and many more.
