As police started to cordon off roadways in anticipation of Trump‘s entry, hundreds accumulated in El Paso’s Washington Park, insignificant avenues from the Mexican fringe.

They remained under the sweltering sun to dissect Trump’s visit, holding signs perusing “Trump is a supremacist” and “Secure our children, not the NRA.” Volunteers go out to the water and enrolled individuals to cast a ballot.

“Today, we must come together and say, Donald Trump, your racism, your hatred, your bigotry are not welcome here,” Adri Perez of the El Paso ACLU said to the crowd.

“We must turn our grief into anger and our anger into action.”
