Legendary Kojo Antwi reached out to me to feature on my ‘Bra’ song- King Promise reveals

One would have never, ever, imagined the Highlife Legend Kojo Antwi on a feature, thoughtless of reaching out to a younger artiste for a collaboration.

However, Ghanaian Afrobeat artiste, King Promise has revealed that, the Legend reached out to him and confessed that he is a fan and would like to work with him.

It had been a long time since Kojo Antwi was heard on a song, but King Promise’s songs managed to pull him out of his shell.

According to King Promise, the ‘Adiepena’ hitmaker contacted him through Mr Eazi and asked him to meet him up.

“Sometimes I don’t even believe I have a song with Kojo Antwi, like it’s very rare to see him on a feature, like very very rare. How I got him on my ‘Bra’ song is amazing because the funny thing is, the Legend reached out to me. It was crazy, like I never dreamt of it. I was with Mr Eazi and he told me Kojo Antwi reached out so we should go meet him. We were at a music video shoot and I told him that he should hurry up and let’s go because I was in a hurry to meet the legend. So we rushed and went to meet him. I went there with Eazi, Joey and everyone was blown away.

“I told him how much he means to me, because growing up, I literally grew up on his music, my family and I. So he told me that he’s been looking for me because he loves my music too. From there we became close, you know he’s like a father-figure so I call him and all. I sent my song to him and went over to his house, played my album to him even before I released it. So I left for South Africa and by the time I got back, he had put a verse on my record for me. I called him and we shot the video and that was it.” King Promise told Veteran TV personality and Comedian, Kwaku Sintim Misah, on the KSM Show.

King Promise added that, Kojo Antwi did not make things stressful for him as he delivered on him and ensured that everything works out fine for him.

Kojo Antwi, also known as “Mr. Music Man”, is a Ghanaian Afro pop, highlife and reggae musical artist. He has been relevant in the music industry since 1994.
