Italian side Cagliari FC and their fans will face no charges after racially abusing Inter Milan’s Striker, Romelu Lukaku.
In their match against Inter Milan, Cagliari FC fans chanted racial words on Striker Lukaku when he was about to play a penalty.
According to officials, there was not enough evidence found to charge the team with racial abuse, however, they have been fined €5000 for throwing bottles on the field while the match was ongoing.
“Chants, shouts and whistles were directed at Lukaku by Cagliari fans, but they were not enough in size and perception to bring about any form of punishment against the club and its supporters,” report claims.
Cagliari have faced several racial abuse allegations including Moise Kean, who’s now at Everton, and French International, Blaise Matuidi.
