Public Holidays For Christmas and New Year Declared By The Federal Government

Nigeria Federal Government has declare December 25th, 26th, and January 1st, 2020 as public holidays for Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations.


This was made disclose by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in a statement made known to the public through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah.

Rauf Aregbesola felicitated with Christians and all Nigerians both at home and abroad on the 2019 Christmas and New Year celebrations and enjoined them to live by the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ which hinge on compassion, patience, peace, righteousness and love for one another.

He also urged Nigerians to be law abiding and seize the period to pray for the country adding that the Muhammadu Buhari led administration would not relent in it’s effort to make Nigeria a better place to be.

The minister concluded by wishing Nigerians a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year celebrations.
