Update on the pandemic outbreak in the country rises to 4 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
As we all know that Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa.
And yet, we have the lowest number of active cases in the continent.
Also, Nigeria federal government announces a good measure in controlling the spread of this virus.
Firstly, in some weeks back. The ministry in charge of aviation urges all Nigerians to stay at home.
In their statement, it says all international airports will close to prevent the further spread of Coronavirus.
Also, the ministry gives isolation method to all citizens of the country from all borders.
All of Nigeria’s land borders, which have been under partial closure.
It now close finally for good four weeks effective 23rd March, 2020 just to prevent the spread.
Furthermore, there are 4 new cases of Coronavirus that test positive in the country.
This figure makes it 30 after the first index case was detect few weeks back.
3 new cases were from Lagos while the other is a resident of the Federal capital Territory in Abuja.
All Abuja and Lagos residents are strongly advise to stay at home.
The statement was released by the Nigeria centre for disease control in the country.
And here is the official statement;
“Four new cases of COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. 3 are in Lagos State and 1 in FCT”
“Two of these cases are returning travellers”
“As at 11:00pm on the 23rd of March, there are 40 confirmed cases of COVID19 in Nigeria.”
“2 have been discharged with 1 death recorded”
In addition, the ministry break down the number of cases to states.
