Spanish side, Sevilla have been crowned 2020 UEFA Europa League Champion after defeating Inter Milan in a well contested final in Cologne, Germany.
Sevilla who qualified for the final after coming from a goal down to beat
Manchester United at the semi final had to rally back in the final after Inter Milan took
the lead as early as 4 minutes.
Romelu Lukaku converted from the spot after he was brought down in the box and
Sevilla made their intention known when they equalised in the 12th minutes.
Luke De Jong equalised for Lopetegui side before scoring his second of the match
with a well taken strike on 33 minutes.
However, former Athletico Madrid defender, Diego Godin made sure the first
half ended in a draw when he equalised for Antonio Conte’s side in the 36th minutes.
Second half started with the same high tempo as the first 45 minutes as both
sides went all out for the winner.
Sevilla relentless effort was finally fruitful when Lukaku deflected a shot into his own
goal as Julien Lopetegui and his side holding on to win their
sixth Europa League title.
The Spanish side have now won the UEFA Cup/Europa League six times, more than any other team in the history of the competition.
