General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye have condemned the killings of protesters at the Lekki tollgate, yesterday October 20.
Nigerian youths have been on the streets for the past few days clamouring for a
better country that’s safe from police brutality but things took a new turn
yesterday night when some protesters were killed during the cause of protesting.
Protesters have been at the famous Lekki tollgate for the past three days and
multiple deaths were recorded yesterday night with some sustaining severe injury.
With the Governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu already paying a visit to
protesters who were injured during the course of the shooting, Pastor Adeboye
have condemned the act as he noted that the Nigerian Police Force has failed.
Adeboye via a post on his official social media platforms called on the
Federal Government to investigate the situation as soon as possible and
make sure justice is well served.
The energetic clergyman them urged youths who are still in the street protesting
to calm things down and let peace reign in the country and also stop any form of
action that will make the military any excuse to attack.
