The expression of interest and nomination forms to contest in the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been picked up for former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Daily Trust reported that a northern group picked the forms on behalf of Jonathan at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.
The former President is however yet to announce his defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
In other news, a Federal High Court in Abuja has refused to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, from preventing Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, from pursuing his presidential ambition while leading the apex bank.
Emefiele had in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/610/2022 and filed on May 5 asked the court to declare him eligible to participate in the 2023 presidential election.
