FC Barcelona and Aston Villa have reached an agreement for the transfer of Philippe Coutinho for 20 million euros. Barça has also reserved 50% of any future sale.
Statement from Barcelona: “Barcelona and Aston Villa have reached an agreement to transfer Philippe Coutinho for 20 million euro. The Club has inserted a 50% sell-on clause for any future sale of the player.”
Statement from Aston Villa: “Aston Villa is delighted to announce the permanent signing of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona for an undisclosed fee. The Brazilian playmaker has signed a contract until 2026.
“After initially signing on loan from the Catalan giants in January, Coutinho made an immediate impact at Villa Park with some outstanding performances. He has scored four goals and contributed three assists to date.”
