Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Ifu Ennada has questioned the ongoing ‘Jesus challenge’ on social media, being held by gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey.
Nathaniel Bassey, had led Nigerians in shutting down Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms with a new challenge to his fans, five years after the success of his #HallelujahChallenge.
It was reported that gospel artiste and happily married father of two, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, shared a picture on social media with the inscription ‘JESUS’, and asked his 2.6 million followers on Instagram and 1.3 million on Twitter to make it their profile picture and share all over their social media accounts,
“Can we make this picture our profile picture and tweet at 12 noon? Let’s release the precious ointment over our land and nation. JESUS,” he tweeted.
And interestingly many Nigerians abided.
We found that at exactly 12 pm, fans and gospel lovers shut down Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms, by sharing the photo with the inscription ‘Jesus’ across the platforms and using it as their profile picture.
Reacting to it, Ifu Ennada sought clarification on the challenge.
She stated that though she is a Jesus girl and loves prayer and worship, yet she wants to know the reason for the trend.
“Make una no vex, abeg why is everyone posting Jesus? Abi rapture don happen some of us dey left behind? PS : I’m a Jesus girl o, I love God, I pray and worship everyday, but I just want to know why the sudden trend….”.
