“I spent all my life in Owerri” – Mercy Eke blasts trolls making fun of her Igbo accent (Video)

Mercy Eke, a reality personality, has spoken out against detractors who make fun of her Igbo accent.

In an interview, the Owerri native stated that she had spent nearly her entire childhood in Owerri, Imo State, and that the sole reason she left was to complete her mandated one-year youth service.

According to Mercy, many famous men and women around the world keep their local accents and are still admired for them, but it is only in Nigeria that people laugh at one other’s accents.

She responded to those who mocked her Igbo accent by asking how they would like her to talk if not with the accent she grew up with.
