Johnny Depp is returning to the film industry. According to Variety, the 59-year-old performer will play the lead role in the French movie “La Favorite,” which will air on Netflix France. In any case, neither Netflix nor its parent company are endorsing nor funding the movie.
A previous report from Bloomberg expressed the film was getting “monetary sponsorship” from the streaming goliath, however, per Variety, that isn’t true.
