Tate Rosner McRae was (born July 1, 2003 (age 19 years), in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Her mother is of German ancestry, while her father is Scottish. Due to her father’s job, McRae’s family relocated to Oman when she was barely 4 years old.

Tanja Rosner, Tate’s mother, is a dance instructor and the founder of the dance company YYC Dance Project. Todd Rosner, Tate’s father, is an attorney. Additionally, she has a hockey-playing older brother named Tucker McRae. She started learning to dance from her mother when she was a young girl growing up in Oman, where she also attended The American International School Muscat.

By the age of 8, Tate McRae came back to Calgary along with her family, and McRae took her dance career more seriously.
