Following an alleged assault on a police officer, a magistrate court in the Ajah region orders the veteran singer-songwriter Ice Prince Zamani to be detained in the Ikoyi prison.
On Friday, September 2, 2022, the “Oleku” hitmaker was detained for reportedly kidnapping a police officer who had stopped him for driving without a license plate.

Following the arrest, the singer was arraigned on a three-count charge –assault, obstruction and abduction of a policeman– by the Lagos Police Command.
The singer, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges that were read to him.
The Jos-born singer was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 and was also requested to provide two sureties.
The accused is to remain in Ikoyi prison until he satisfies his bail conditions.
