Nigerian music icon David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, has responded to Kenyan William Ruto’s confirmation as the country’s next president following a court decision.
The Kenyan Supreme Court upheld Ruto’s victory in the country’s August presidential election on Monday, September 5.
He was proclaimed the victor of the recently held election, although Raila Odinga had sued to overturn the results.
Delivering judgement, Chief Justice Martha Koome struck out Odinga’s suit and upheld Ruto’s election.
Moments after the news broke, Davido took to his Twitter account and congratulated the president-elect as well as people of Kenya.
He tweeted; “Congratulations to Dr William Samoei Ruto on being declared 5th President of the Republic of #Kenya @WilliamsRuto. Also, Congratulations to the people of Kenya! DEMOCRACY WINS AGAIN.”
