Jennifer Lynn Connelly (born December 12, 1970), in Cairo, New York to Ilene and Gerard Connelly. Her mother worked as an antique merchant, while her father made clothes. She grew up in Brooklyn Heights and went to Saint Ann’s school there.

When Jennifer Connelly was 10 years old, a friend of her father’s suggested that she go on an audition as a young model. With the Ford Modeling Agency, she began her modeling career. She has been featured on the covers of numerous magazines and Japanese pop music.
