Klopp breaks silence after Liverpool fall to Nottingham

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Kloop was dissatisfied with his team’s wasted opportunities after they suffered a shocking loss to Nottingham Forest.

At the City Ground on Saturday, Liverpool lost shockingly to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League by a scoreline of 1-0. The game’s lone goal, scored by Taiwo Awoniyi, gave Forest all three points and allowed them to move off the bottom of the standings.

Klopp to BT Sport:  “The performance I can kind of explain, the result not to be honest, because I never saw a game where one team has four or five no-brainers from a set piece where we have to finish it off, the way they defend, we were perfectly prepared for that, we always had free players. Virgil two or three times, Firmino, they have to put the game to bed 100%. To be honest the goal we lost was a big mistake by us. Apart from that all the chances they had we gave then. It’s a game you have to win by purely doing the right stuff again and again and again and we didn’t and that’s why we lost the game.”

Prior to Saturday’s game, Klopp said in an interview with BT Sport: “For Darwin the game comes too early, he still feels the intensity of the game muscle-wise so there was no chance he could play today. Maybe he could play tomorrow or on Monday but not today.

And Thiago got a bad ear infection overnight. The decision was made this morning at 5:15. That’s how it is sometimes and that’s the reason for that.
