“The Only Offence Now Is Cause I Want To Be President”, An Extract Of Peter’s Obi Speech In Arewa House (Video)

Labour party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has addressed issues regarding hearsays of his past actions based on tribal and religious bigot.

Mr Peter Obi was recently invited to a Northern group forum named the ‘Arewa House’, recently. Adding to the lists of delegates, residents of political power horses and other monarchs he had visited, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Peter Obi, when given the opportunity to speak on the podium, corrected the rumours of him being a tribal bigot propagated by the present governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El Rufai.

According to El-Rufai, Obi was seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the time.


“Now I’m the Governor of Kaduna State and he’s coming to Kaduna. In addition to the police and the State Secret Service, I have one Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army here, if I need to arrest and detain anyone. But we are northerners, we are civilised. We don’t do things like that. I wish you all safe journey back to your destinations.”


He said, “In 2013, I went to Anambra State as an official of the APC to witness the bye-election for governorship. Your next guest, Peter Obi, as governor, got me arrested and detained for 48 hours in my hotel room.”

Peter Obi countered all these claims in front of the northerners, throwing an example of how he appointed a northerner as the CSP of his regime in Anambra State.

His further claims had it that he also gave another northerner money for business venture as he boast of the growing strength of the business.


The key extract from his speech was, “In 2019 I was a good man, the only offense i committed now is because I want to be president”.
