Netizens have attacked the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, for saying that s*x education should not be taught in schools because it undermines and destroys society’s moral standards and religious teaching.
According to the minister who made the call at the 66th National Council on Education (NCE), existing research suggests that s*x education harms pupils more than it helps them.
Netizens have reacted to the minister of education‘s call to put an end to s*x education in schools with many saying his decision is part of the reasons why Nigeria is backward in everything.
@talks3xwithireti wrote: Teaching s3x education to teenagers and minors is not teaching them how to have s3x. We s3x educators have suffered sha!
It’s simply educating them about their bodies, identifying their sexuality( am a boy and not a girl, am a girl and not a boy, boys have a pen!s, girls have a vulva, etc..
Understanding puberty, emotional changes and many more. Excuse me sir, this is what it is to the underage and taught.
@taaooma: Education minister!?
@amaaa: Sec education Shldnt be taught it schools but you guys are marrying 13year olds !!! Make it make sense !!!
@ritagold120: Nepotism they cause problem sha, because this one suppose they gum shoe for one gate right now.
@callmedamy: That’s why nigeria is always backward because of people like this
@sharon: Which other means? That’s why unwanted pregnancy keep coming up because of ignorance
@badgelquasar: Is it a one world religion? Why impose your religious views on the rest of the world?
@poshest_hope: you lie sir. Sex education helps them to reduce their risk of potentially negative outcomes like unwanted pregnancies and STDs. Ignorance isn’t education. Refusing to acknowledge reality education, they owe it to them to teach them to protect themselves.
@hayuurr: We should be taught virtually everything at school, the good and the bad but more emphasis on the good and the dire consequences of the bad.
@_somebodys1stson: From the mouth of a minister of education in 2022 oh it’s like while life and the years are evolving these people at the helm of affairs are bent on remaining in the obsolete
@queenisiguzo: Hmmm Oga, these days it’s very necessary. The amount of exposure these teens are getting from social media makes this necessary.
@dr_adanma: Omg Ignorance is a big disease and not poverty….. What did i just read? See una ministers.
@sandela: Nice, so it will give a chance to raise naive kids. This is modern age, if u like remove s3x education as a course for kids. Who wan spoil go spoil eeh.
@all4gram: My question is if our present government ministers and appointees did went to sch cos only an uneducated person can split such rubbish. This isn’t ignorance. This is illiteracy consumed in a lost religious culture. What a waste being living among us in the 2000’s century smh
@dmdpbmaoi: Even if its not taught in schools, it will definitely be taught at home. Sex education is very good, unlike the days our mothers used to tell us not to near a man else you will be pregnant, which is not the koko.
@jay_scotch_autos: Don’t be primitive sir. There are so many things to be taught about sex education. It’s not basically what you think. Effective and comprehensive sex education in schools will cause more good than harm (if any).
@iamkingdinero2: Shuo see all this ones whe dey marry small pikin when them never cut her placental dey still speak of m abeg abeg abeg abeg.
