INEC: Nigerians Call For Tinubu’s Disqualification As U.S. Court Releases Document Of His Drug Dealing, Money Laundering Case

Following the publication of certified genuine copies of his drug trafficking and money laundering case in Chicago by a United States court, there are calls for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to exclude Bola Ahmed Tinubu from running in the next presidential election.

According to Peoples Gazette, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has published new records detailing Bola Tinubu’s contact with American authorities over drug trafficking and money laundering charges.

The development comes against the backdrop of Nigerians’ inquisition on Tinubu’s involvement in illegal cases which saw him forfeit up to $460,000 to American authorities in 1993.

Further reports say the 56-page document released by the district court’s headquarters in Chicago obtained on August 10 shows that Mr Tinubu and two others named K.O. Tinubu and Alhaji Mogati were involved in banking proceeds of illicit drugs and money laundering with Heritage Bank and Citibank.INEC: Nigerians Call For Tinubu’s Disqualification As U.S. Court Releases Document Of His Drug Dealing, Money Laundering Case INEC: Nigerians Call For Tinubu’s Disqualification As U.S. Court Releases Document Of His Drug Dealing, Money Laundering Case INEC: Nigerians Call For Tinubu’s Disqualification As U.S. Court Releases Document Of His Drug Dealing, Money Laundering Case

Reacting to the reports, @ Daniel Regha wrote: “INEC can investigate & disqualify Tinubu from contesting, but they w¤n’t cos the corruption runs deep; Even without the drug dealing & money laundering allegations, Tinubu is unfit to contest due to his inconsistency in education qualification claims. The INEC !sn’t serious.”

@Uche: “At this point nobody with a conscience will support Tinubu. There is no going back on this. Having a drug dealer as President is a dangerous precedence and I expect Channels TV and Arise to ask this very important question. How did Tinubu make his money?”

@Chymaker: “Bola Tinubu can never be the President of Nigeria. He can’t. There is nothing anyone can do about it. If you like cry from today until thy kingdom come. He won’t get near Aso Rock. He won’t survive it and won’t be here for 2027.”

@Nzubo Agbo: “Bola Tinubu is now a certified drug dealer, proven by #US Government. At this point, if the fact that Tinubu still has supporters that are Nigerians doesn’t shock you? Then nothing will.”

Meanwhile, Tinubu who is campaigning to become Nigeria’s next president believes he deserves to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari based on his antecedents.

He was quoted in July as saying: “I have been there from the days of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), through the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and which eventually metamorphosed into the APC.

“I have served for over 25 years and helped many achieve their political ambitions.

“Your governor, Dapo Abiodun, could not have become governor without God’s and my support.

“Go and check the video, they did not want to hand over the party’s flag to him as the APC flagbearer for the 2019 gubernatorial election in Ogun.

“I was the one that insisted that it should be given to him.

“If not for me that stood solidly behind Buhari and encouraged him to go ahead, he could not have become president,” he said.

“Since his assumption of power, I never took ministerial position, begged him for any contract or loan.

“All I am saying is that it is the turn of the Yoruba speaking people to become president and within the yoruba people, it is my turn.

“I have adopted and protected many political children, but in the face of danger, one has to first protect himself.

“I have served enough. I do not want to become history. It is my turn to become president. It is a matter of right for me. Bring it on.”
