Reno Omokri Shades Peter Obi As South-East Businessmen Donate N1bn To Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign

Reno Omokri, a socio-political pundit, has attacked the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, after two thousand South-Eastern businessmen contributed N1 billion to the campaign of Aswáj Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate (APC).

On his Twitter handle, Reno claimed Peter Obi is only preparing for rejection, not election as people from his region move against him.

in his words: “Igbo businessmen united to donate ₦1 billion to Bola Tinubu’s campaign. That is how you prepare for election. By going about making baseless and obvious lies, Peter Obi is only preparing for rejection, not election. Even his own people are voting with their money!”

Reacting to the tweet, @Rendor wrote: “Atiku’s boys are so clueless, Talk about your candidate, market your candidate because at the moment he can’t win in the SW, SE and SS. Mr Peter Obi is more popular in this election than your candidate, PO trends every day but Atiku is nowhere.”

@Chichem: “Atiku your principal is not in the equation anymore because you have conceded that PDP for you is a wrong choice. Peter Obi is the man for the Job.”

@Fanres wrote: “Trying to demarket Mr Obi won’t work Mr Reno.”

The financial support for Tinubu was made known by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on Thursday at the Town Hall meeting between Tinubu and business leaders in the region.

He said membership of the group was drawn from the five states of the region.

“I am happy to say our people are fully in support of our Presidential candidate who has come to share his vision and plan for Nigeria and South East today. To support this aspiration the sum of N1billion naira has been raised by 2000 business owners across the South East states,” said Governor Uzodimma.

A spokesman for the group, Emeka Mgbudem said the group believes in Nigeria and is committed to peace.

He noted the group members contributed N500,000 each because they believe in Tinubu, after reading his Action Plan for Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Reno’s tweet comes a few days after he had slammed Obi for tackling Dino Melaye, a spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Management Committee, at the presidential town hall meeting organized by Arise TV.

Reno Omokri claimed Mr Obi’s inability to control his temper at the event is an indication that the Labour Party presidential candidate will not be able to control Nigeria and her armed forces as president.

In his words: “If Obi cannot control his temper on stage during the AriseTV town hall presidential debate, and began throwing a tantrum and shouting words at Dino Melaye, then how can he control Nigeria and our armed forces as President? Obi showed that his emotions control him!”
