Daniel Regha, a social media adviser and analyst, has called out Afrobeat music star Burna Boy yet again for failing to offer an apology.
According to Creebhills, Burna Boy performed late at a Lagos concert on Sunday, January 1, 2023, prompting his fans to criticize him for starting his show at 3 a.m. rather than 7 p.m. In response, the singer mocked them by cursing them.
He stated that he only came to the concert out of goodwill and that he would have left if not for the pleas of his colleague, Seyi Vibez.
He also accused fans of labeling him a murderer following a shooting incident last year between the singer and a newlywed couple at Obi Cubana’s club in Lagos.
Explaining what caused his late performance, Burna stated that the type of organizational structure and infrastructure he needed wasn’t available. He further revealed plans to build a world-class music infrastructure in Nigeria.
Daniel Regha, in response to Burna Boy’s apology, claims that the latter’s apology is scripted and half-baked.
According to Daniel, the ‘Last Last’ crooner did not apologize for cursing his fans, noting that every artist hides behind technical issues to start shows late.
Burna apologized to Lagos fans for being late, citing technical difficulties (the same scr!pted excuse all artistes use), but he didn’t apologize for cursing fans or underrating Nigerians on stage; it says a lot. That is not a genuine apology; it is simply damage control.
