American Doctor lists the 5 body parts people are not washing correctly

A doctor has identified the five (5) body parts that people do not wash on a regular basis when they bathe.

Dr Jen Caudle, a doctor from the United States, posted a video on TikTok explaining the areas she believes many people forget to clean, such as the belly button, behind the ears, and in between the toes.

” You’re not washing these enough” She said.

Starting with the belly button,Dr Caudle said it’s an area many never clean,which can lead to potential infections.

“That’s right. A lot of people don’t wash their belly button at all” She said.

“Guys, it gets gross. Please wash your belly button.”

For those with an “outie”, Dr Caudle said the best way to wash it is to use soap, water and a washcloth.

Outie belly buttons look like a little knot is sticking out.

“If you have an outie belly button, you should be able to wash it, no problem,” she said.

However, those with an “innie” will need to do a thorough clean.

Innie belly buttons are like a little dent in your stomach.

“If you have an innie, you might need to be a little bit more strategic about it,” she said.

“The washcloth doesn’t get into an innie very far so it doesn’t clean it fully. This is actually where I suggest a Q tip. Q tips can be very helpful getting that soap and water in there if you’re not able to get that wash towel in there.”

She also suggested cleaning the belly button with an alcohol solution or salt water.

“There’s a couple of other things you could do like rubbing alcohol solution or a little bit of salt water solution if you don’t feel like soap and water does the trick,” she said.

However she warned: “If you feel you’ve got discharge, pus, pain, redness, inflammation, swelling, or other things like an odour that doesn’t go away, you’ve got to see a doctor because you may have an infection that needs further treatment.

“We want you to wash your belly button routinely to hopefully help prevent those infections,” she added.


The second area many don’t wash enough was behind the areas.

“The top of the ears, behind this little area here, the back and also the lobe,” she said.

“I want you to specifically wash that area. If you rub your ears and you smell it and it’s gross, you haven’t washed it recently.”


Third on her list was underneath the fingernails.

“Make sure you wash or rather scrub underneath your fingernails,” she said.

“This is where a lot of dirt and grossness gets trapped. We don’t often think about our fingernails.”


The fourth area she mentioned were the legs.

“I want you to actually wash your legs,” she said.

“I’m not talking about letting that soap run down your legs in the shower, I’m talking about washing.

“Wash your legs please.”


Finally she pointed out that people often forget to clean their toes.

“Get in between those toes and make sure you’re washing them,” she said.

“You want to make sure you’re preventing infections of many different sorts so make sure you’re deliberately washing your toes.”

She added: “And wash the rest of your body by the way.”
