Timi Dakolo, a popular Nigerian singer/songwriter, took to social media to recount how a friend tried to prevent him from getting a job.
He explained that the friend was in a room where people were planning an event, and he was approached about performing at the event.
Only that friend knew him personally, while everyone else in the room was a stranger to him.
Nonetheless, the one friend he had in the room tried to discourage them from hiring him.
One of the strangers in the room later asked him if he had a problem with the woman because she was preventing him from getting the job, he said.
Timi said he got the job eventually and the incident taught him a lesson.
