Early Life
Alex Ekubo-Okwaraeke, aka Alexx Ekubo (born April 10, 1986, 39 years old), is from Arochukwu, Abia State, Nigeria.
A talented actor born in Abia State, he has appeared in many movies, playing key roles flawlessly and showing a high level of professionalism that helped make him one of the most sought-after actors.
Education
He attended the Federal Government College, Daura, Katsina State. He studied law at the University of Calabar and later got a diploma in law from Calabar Polytechnic.
Career
Alexx Ekubo wasn’t known to the public before coming into the entertainment industry. As an undergraduate and law student at the University of Calabar, he was focused on his studies and wasn’t really interested in any activities outside his academics.
Towards the tail end of his first-degree program in 2008, he gradually discovered himself as an actor. Opportunities to carve out a niche in his acting career began to come.
The genesis of his career started when he was an undergraduate; he was partially involved in Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen’s film titled “Sinner in the House,” where he played a minor role. Emerging as the 2010 first runner-up of the popular Mr Nigerian contest also helped expose him to a wider audience which is a big advantage for a young, emerging face on the screen.
Many years after his first movie role, his primary role came in “Ladies Men,” where he brought his character to life. This made him a popular face on TV, marking his rise to fame in the industry. He followed up his first significant role with other high-profile movies in which he played the lead.
Interestingly, Alexx Ekubo has featured in over 80 Nollywood movies after spending about 12 years in the industry. Appearing in popular television soap operas and delivering excellent acting have helped keep him among the biggest boys in the industry, socially and financially.

Personal Life
Failed Marriage
On 10 May 2021, Alexx Ekubo and his ex-fiancée, Fancy Acholonu, announced their wedding dates on Instagram. Their traditional wedding was scheduled for Saturday, 20 November, in Imo State, while the white wedding was on the upper Saturday, 27 November, in Lagos State.
In August 2021, Alexx Ekubo’s fiancée, Fancy Acholonu, called off their engagement, releasing a statement saying their relationship had ended. Alexx’s fiancée cited incompatibility as the reason for the breakup, stating that after careful consideration, they had concluded that their relationship was no longer beneficial.
