Desmond Elliot, an award-winning actor and lawmaker, has condemned the attack on his colleague/opponent, Olumide Oworu.
According to Kemi Filani, the Labour Party candidate for Surulere LGA 1 claimed on Tuesday, March 14, that he and his team members were attacked.
On Thursday, Olumide Oworu announced this on his Twitter page. According to him, the thugs disrupted their campaign in Iponri, causing one person to be injured.
“My team and I were attacked on Tuesday as we attempted to campaign at Iponri, Surulere. A member of my team was injured, but we are thankful the incident didn’t escalate past the level it was. The case has been reported at the Iponri police station,” the tweet reads.
Following the attack, Desmond Elliot has broken his silence as he condemned the act.
He noted how he has reiterated at several fora that he would never be a party to any move that seeks to undermine the peaceful coexistence in Lagos.
Desmond stated that he strongly condemns the act of violence in whatever guide, and as a law abiding citizen, he has called for emotions to be kept under control.
