Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma sacks commissioner

Hope Uzodimma

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma approved the immediate removal of the state Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Ford Ozumba, on Saturday.

Declan Emelumba, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, announced the removal in an Owerri statement on Saturday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, no reason was given for the commissioner’s removal, who was directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary of the ministry with immediate effect.

Under the auspices of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, public sector workers in the state went on strike on March 8 over alleged interference in the union’s election of new state executives.
