Queen Naija was (born on October 17, 1995), in Ypsilanti, Michigan, neighboring Detriot. She was named Queen after her grandmother, and her mid-name, Naija, came from her father. She has Yemeni ancestry from her father’s side, and her mother is Black, Italian, and Indian.
Naija’s dad visited her at the hospital when she was born but was otherwise not a part of her life as he was deported back to Yamen when she was two years old. As a result, Queen was raised by a single mother. Apart from this, she started singing at 3, as her grandma began taking her to church.
