In what is coming as a sad development, former Super Eagles midfielder, Emmanuel Ebiede, has been confirmed dead.
Ebiede died in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Friday, after suffering Hepatomegaly.
The 47-year-old gave up the ghost at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital.
Ebiede was part of the Flying Eagles squad at the African Youth Championship on home soil in 1995.
The midfielder won only two caps for the senior Nigeria national team, making his debut under Serbian Bora Milutinovic in the 1-0 win over Iran in a friendly match played before the 1998 World Cup.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
