“It has been a long battle but God has been with us” – Davido says as Court affirms his uncle’s victory

David Adeleke, also known as Davido, a popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, turned to social media to celebrate his uncle, Ademola Adeleke’s, win as Osun Governor.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court in Abuja confirmed Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as the Governor of Osun State.

On the issue of jurisdiction, the court ruled in favour of Governor Adeleke, holding that the court had every right to hear the appeal under section 285(8) of the amended constitution. The court also awarded the All Progressive Congress and its candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, a sum of five hundred thousand naira (500,000).

Few moments after the news surfaced online, Afrobeat Singer, Davido took to social media to celebrate. In a post shared on his Official Instatory today being Tuesday the 9th day of May, 2023 The talented singer revealed that the battle has been on for years but they always scale through because God is with them. He further went ahead to reveal that it has been a long battle but it’s now freedom time.
