Minister Impregnates Deputy in DR Congo, Claims it’s Workplace Accident

Tony Mwaba Kazadi, the Minister of Primary and Technical Education (EPST) of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), allegedly impregnated his Deputy Minister, Aminata Namasia, and blamed it on an “accident at work.”

Both ministers had apparently been having an affair for some time, despite the fact that they were both married.

Lungila John, a reporter from the DR Congo, broke the news on Twitter. Citizens of the country have put both ministers on blast, saying that their conduct was bad and showed the decay of morals in the country.

A citizen of the country identified as Archy Lema referred to the incident as a shame, as she wondered what example the female minister was setting for younger ladies looking up to her.

The minister had, before this incident, been touted as an exemplary role model for young girls in the country. She was appointed as a National Deputy Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education in 2021 at the age of 28 under Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde’s cabinet.

Aminata has responded to the allegations in a tweet, saying she will not tolerate anyone tarnishing her image. “Beyond my official and public duties, I have a life that must be respected by all. A right guaranteed to all Congolese by our Constitution. Tarnishing my image should not be a tolerated habit,” she tweeted.

Meanwhile, Tony Kazadi, her senior colleague who allegedly got her pregnant has yet to break his silence on the issue.
