Popular Nigerian singer-turned-clergyman Bankole Wellington, aka Banky W, appears to have addressed the accusations of dishonesty leveled against him.
Remember how a contentious blog called Gistlover implied that the singer was having an affair with Niyola, a previous signee, instead of his wife, the actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington?
The singer-turned-preacher, however, said that the rumors were spread by evil forces who didn’t want his followers to hear his sermon on Sunday when addressing his congregation at the Waterbrooks church in Lagos.
He told his congregation that God was in control and that the devil was a liar.
He said, “The devil really didn’t want you to hear this message. In fact, he didn’t want us to enter into this series at all. There was an attack at the beginning, but here we are. But the devil is a liar. And God is in control.”
Preaching on the topic, ‘The Prison Of Pornography’, Banky W appreciated his wife, Adesua, for supporting him during his struggle with porn addiction.
“If I don’t thank God for anything in my life, I thank God for this woman [pointing at Adesua],” he said.
