Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo recently utilized Facebook Live to officially withdraw his support for the president of the Southeastern Senate.
During the live session, the former Niger Delta militant expressed confusion about why some Igbos accused him of being angry because Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had abandoned him after winning the presidency.
He questioned the ethics of campaigning for the leadership of the Southeastern Senate at this time, and he was dismayed by the manner some Igbos addressed him as if he were a local. Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo announced that he would no longer support Igbos even if the entire world did.
Furthermore, Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo made it clear that he would refrain from discussing Igbos in Nigerian politics from now on. He wanted his audience to understand that this would be the last time he addressed this topic. The chief of the Kalabari kingdom emphasized that his initial strong support for the Igbos stemmed from his desire to prevent them from feeling marginalized. However, he felt that the Igbos did not appreciate his efforts, and he stated that he would refrain from commenting on their complaints in the future.
